Condominiums and Cooperatives
A condominium is a multiple unit dwelling much like an apartment complex, however, rather than rent a condominium unit, an individual will purchase the unit and have all of the benefits of an owner. There are some exceptions as to what the owner may do with the condominium as defined in a restrictive covenant. The owner will have the legal rights to ownership and to sell if they wish. A cooperative apartment house is generally owned and managed by a corporation; the shareholders are the tenants who lease the apartments from this corporation.
